Overview

Ragsdale Heating, Air, Plumbing, & Electrical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance and Accounting Leader to oversee our company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing comprehensive finance and accounting functions, including monthly close processes, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reconciliations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to lead financial operations effectively to support the company's growth and financial health.

Responsibilities

What Will I Do?

  • Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards 
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic insights to guide the company's financial planning 
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities; prepare and present reports to senior management 
  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring they reflect the company's financial position accurately 
  • Coordinate and lead the accounts reconciliation process, including bank statements, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting 
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls 
  • Collaborate with various departments to support financial initiatives, providing guidance on cost management and profitability enhancement 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth 
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as required, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's financial operations remain compliant and competitive 

Qualifications

Do I have What it Takes?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification preferred 
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in finance and accounting leadership roles, with a strong background in monthly close processes, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis 
  • Proficient in financial software and advanced Excel skills; experience with Service Titan and Intacct is highly desirable 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions 
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing high-performing finance teams 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across departments and with senior management 
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting
